Sen. Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan is confident that the opposition will have “more than enough” candidates for the 2019 elections who can “change the trajectory of the country.”
“I can confirm that our list has more than enough names to fill a slate; we have no shortage of people who are principled and competent enough to change the trajectory of the country,” Pangilinan, the president of the Liberal Party (LP), said in a statement on Tuesday.
According to Pangilinan, the LP and its coalition partners have held a series of meetings to deliberate on a list of candidates who can represent an alternative way to run the country forward.
He said that the list of candidates is awaiting final approval from Vice President Leni Robredo, LP chairperson.
“This process will definitely be completed before the month ends. We’ll update the media and the waiting public on the final list as soon as we can,” Pangilinan said. /vvp
