Three vehicles collide in Misamis Oriental
MISAMIS ORIENTAL – Three vehicles collided Monday night at the boundaries of Gitagum and Libertad towns in Misamis Oriental and injured about 12 people.
The mishap at 8 p.m. involved a Super 5 Transport bus, with body number S087 and plate number KWA 919; a winged-van and a ten-wheeler truck.
Those injured included bus passengers and the drivers of the three vehicles. Their names were not immediately released.
Nine of them were brought to Misamis Orientall Provincial Hospital in Initao town, here, while other victims were brought to Cagayan de Oro City.
Afryl Jay Bernas, 30, one of the bus passengers, said they were travelling from Cagayan de Oro City to Iligan when a van, heading to Cagayan de Oro overtook the ten-wheeler truck that caused the passenger bus to suddenly stop.

Article continues after this advertisementHe said the winged-van that was following the bus bumped on the rear part of the passenger vehicle which was pushed against the ten-wheeler truck in front.
Rescuers, who included people in the community, took three hours to get the drivers out of the vehicles.
Bernas said their attending physician declared her safe but she still had to undergo medical observation. /cbb
