Malacañang on Monday stressed that President Rodrigo Duterte’s claim that the Liberal Party, communist rebels, and Senator Antonio Trillanes IV are set to remove him from office by October is backed by legitimate “intelligence information.”
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the President’s claim had a factual basis because he has exclusive access to all kinds of intelligence reports.
“Alam n’yo naman ang Presidente, tanging siya lang ang may access sa lahat ng mga impormasyon, kasama na iyong intelligence information,” Roque said in an interview on DZRH.
“Pag nagsalita ang Presidente ng ganyan, meron pong basehan,” the Palace official insisted.
Roque also hit back at Duterte’s critics, accusing them of being too eager to return to power.
“Ang tawag ko po sa kanila ay talagang atat na atat na makabalik sa Malacañang na isang katotohanan naman,” the Palace Spokesperson said.
The President, upon his return from Jordan and Israel on Saturday, warned of a unified effort from three groups that have connived to oust him.
“Tatlong yan, bantayan ninyo. Yang yellow liberals, Trillanes, pati ang politburo,” he said.
Citing “intelligence reports,” Duterte said he would divulge his proof in time or when the Supreme Court tells him to do so.
“We will show it to you. Kaya kayong mga sundalo, before you jump to conclusions, tanungin n’yo intelligence n’yo and they will show you. It’s not for public consumption now, pero pagdating ng panahon and I’m compelled by the Supreme Court and say “state your case”, ipalabas ko lahat,” the President added. /vvp
