CEBU CITY—Unidentified men lobbed improvised explosive devices (IED) on two establishments owned by businessman Peter Lim in Cebu City.

No one was hurt when the IED exploded outside Chuva Chuva Massage Parlor in Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City about 2:45 a.m. on Saturday although it damaged the establishment’s ceiling and glass wall.

About 15 minutes later, two men on board a motorcycle lobbed an IED in front of Infinity KTV Music Lounge at Archbishop Reyes Street in Barangay Kasambagan but it didn’t explode.

Supt. Ryan Devaras, chief of the Investigation, Detection, and Management Branch (IDMB) of Cebu City Police, said they had yet to determine if the two incidents were related even if these were both owned by Lim, who had remained at large despite the arrest warrant issued against him for drug trafficking.

“We are still conducting deeper investigation,” said Devaras.

Saturday’s incident was the fourth attack made on establishments owned by Lim.

Two months ago, unidentified men set off two homemade bombs outside Lim’s store that sold imported heavy equipment and trucks along M.C. Briones Street in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

No one was hurt but the explosion tore apart some vehicles displayed outside Hilton Motors.

Last June 30, three armed men allegedly disarmed the security guard of Infinity KTV & Music Lounge and tried to set the establishment on fire.
