Trillanes denies hatching plot to oust Duterte

Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Saturday denied the ouster plot he allegedly was planning with some local and foreign communist groups against President Rodrigo Duterte.

Duterte in a speech in Davao earlier accused Trillanes, the Liberal Party and communist groups including the Communist Party of the Philippines to be plotting his ouster.

“Hindi po totoo ‘yan. Eto po, just to show kung gaano kasinungaling itong si Duterte. Sinong nagpakawala doon sa mga NPA [New People’s Army] commanders, di ba si Duterte?” Trillanes said in a press briefing.

(That’s not true. This just shows how much of a liar Duterte is. Who ordered the release of the NPA commanders, wasn’t it Duterte?)

Trillanes dared Duterte to name the country from which he said the alleged foreign communist group is based.

“‘Yung foreign government na sinasabi niya, sino ‘yun, eh sa kadadaldal nito ni Duterte ni hindi niya masabi kung anong foreign government ‘yun, hindi niya masabi anong bansa,” he said.

(That foreign government he was saying, which government. Duterte has been talking a lot yet he can’t tell which foreign government he was pertaining to, he can’t say which country.)
