Senior passengers to get perks from PAL on Sept. 9, ‘Grandparents Day’
In line with the upcoming celebration of Grandparents Day on Sunday, Philippine Airlines (PAL) said it would upgrade its service offerings for senior passengers.
PAL chief customer experience officer Jessica Abaya said the airline would be launching a package of products and services on Grandparents Day.
“PAL values all our passengers, especially those who need special assistance, our senior citizens and PWDs. Their needs are our priority. We want to make their travel experience comfortable and delightful,” Abaya said in a press statement.
“Our direct flights to the U.S., London and Australia are convenient and popular among our senior citizen passengers. They also appreciate the special care our cabin crew provide them during their flight, assisting them to go to the lavatory, stow their bags, help them with forms,” she added.
According to the airline company, the following are included in the package:
* 20 percent discount and VAT exemption for domestic flights
* Online booking and check-in
* Special meals, including pre-cut meals
* Curbside drop-off and pick-up points
* Priority check – in and Immigration lanes
* Courtesy waiting areas and seats
* Special wheelchair assistance from departure to arrival
* Priority boarding
* Wheelchair-friendly airport terminal transfer buses
* Courtesy area for baggage retrieval
Abaya also advised senior passengers who would be availing of the special meals being allotted to choose between soft-diet and pre-cut meals.
In order to avail the said service, senior passengers will have to declare their meal requirements and other requests at least 48 hours prior to their trip.
Abaya added that the airline has also provided “easy to spot signs: to guide senior passengers to the curbside drop-off and pick-up points, lanes, courtesy areas and seats and to the priority boarding lanes,
There will also be specific areas in the baggage claim areas where senior passengers can conveniently collect their baggage after arrival. /muf
