MARILAO, BULACAN—The Bureau of Customs sealed off a warehouse in an industrial compound here on Friday for concealing an undetermined amount of smuggled rice.

Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna, Bulacan police director, said a team led by Alvin Encino, of the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service, padlocked the Evergreen Warehouse inside the compound of Federal Corp. (Fedcor) shortly after midnight.

As of Friday afternoon, Bersaluna said the team had not yet prepared an inventory of the warehouse’s contents which were allegedly smuggled from China. —CARMELA REYES-ESTROPE
