Trillanes: Duterte still wants me arrested without warrant
Senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed that President Rodrigo Duterte still orders his arrest even without a warrant.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque earlier said Duterte wants the warrant of arrest released by the court first before Trillanes can be captured by authorities.
“This is not true. The AFP [Armed Forces of the Philippines] and PNP [Philippine National Police] still have orders to have me arrested even without a warrant,” Trillanes said in a statement Friday evening.
According to Roque, Duterte met with his Cabinet members Thursday night during his visit in Israel to consult them on his arrest order against Trillanes.
“At matapos po ang mahabang talakayan, nagdesisyon po ang Presidente that he will abide [by] the rule of law. Aantayin po niya ang desisyon ng hukuman, ng regional trial court, kung sila po ay mag-iisyu ng warrant of arrest,” Roque said in a press briefing.
