Rain over Luzon as LPA enhances ‘habagat’ – Pagasa

A low pressure area (LPA) is enhancing the southwest monsoon “habagat” which is expected to bring rain over the western section of Luzon and most parts of the country, the state weather bureau said Friday.

The LPA was last spotted 95 kilometers west northwest of Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

Another low pressure area was spotted 620 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, but it will not directly affect the country.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains, Pagasa said.  /muf
