Scavenger finds corpse stuffed inside a drum in Tondo river

A corpse was found inside a drum thrown in the waters of R-10 bridge in Tondo, Manila Wednesday.

Police, in an initial report, said a scavenger identified as Ednel Dillo swam at the river to look for recyclable scraps when he noticed a drum-like container made of concrete at the bottom.

Reports said when Dillo opened it, he saw a dead body of a man stuffed inside.

Dillo reported his find to local authorities of Barangay 101, who later reported it to the police, according to the report.

Authorities have yet to identify the victim and investigators are still finding out how long the cadaver had been in the river.
