2 suspected NPA rebels killed in Sunday clash in Aurora
FORT RAMON MAGSAYSAY, Palayan City – Two suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels were killed in a 45-minute firefight between soldiers and armed men in Aurora province on Sunday afternoon, the military reported on Monday.
Members of the Army’s 91st Infantry Battalion, led by 2Lt. Hamton Dawaton, engaged about 20 armed men at 3:45 p.m. in Barangay (village) Villa at Maria Aurora town, said Major Gen. Felimon Santos, Jr., commander of the 7th Infantry Division.
The identities of the slain men have not been established. No soldier was hurt.
