Busig-on Festival

The weeklong festival at Labo town in Camarines Norte province pays tribute to the Labo River, considered vital in providing access to the sea and a source of food and livelihood to residents. The festival’s name is derived from the words “busig,” which means water, and “on” meaning plenty. It is based on an epic entitled “Ang Epiko ni Busig-on” written by Dr. Carlos C. Galvez. Festivities include a landscaping competition, boodle fight, farmers’ congress, song writing competition, street dancing competition and tricycle parade.
