Pimentel bares ‘very possible’ PDP-Laban list of Senate bets

The Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) revealed on Friday night its eight “very possible” senatorial candidates for the 2019 midterm elections.

Included in the list are Special Assistant to the Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, Davao Rep, Karlo Nograles, Francis Tolentino, Senator Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Makati City Rep. Monsour del Rosario, Quirino Rep. Dakila Cua, Maguindanao Rep. Zajid “Dong” Mangudadatu, and Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Pimentel, PDP-Laban president, revealed the list in a message sent to reporters on Saturday.

Asked what “very possible” means, Pimentel said the personalities are “all interested to run for senator.’

“Very possible [means] yes, they are all interested to run for senator,” he said.

Pimentel also said the possible candidates will be supported by President Rodrigo Duterte who chairs the party as long as they are “honest, principled, service-oriented, and competent.”

He said their possible Senate run will be backed by Duterte if they embody the principles of the ruling party.

Go, who was included in the list, earlier brushed off hearsays that he will run for senator, saying he is more interested in remaining as “your janitor” than becoming a lawmaker. /muf
