3 Pasay cops accused of killing Eric Sison temporarily cleared
A Pasay City court temporarily cleared the three Pasay policemen who were caught on video shooting down 21-year-old Eric Sison, who was already begging for his life, two years ago.
The homicide case against Police Officers 1 Jan Erwin Isaac, Melford Olorosisimo and Benigno Baladjay, was “dismissed provisionally” by the Pasay City Regional Trial Court Branch 118.
An order dated Aug. 15, 2018, signed by Judge Rowena Nieves Tan, temporarily dismissed the case after the private complainants—Mariel Sison and Rachelle Bermoy, Sison’s mother and live-in partner, respectively—failed to repeatedly attend the hearings of the case.
Tan noted that the complainants and the prosecution witnesses did not attend the Aug. 15 hearing, which should be the continuation of the prosecution’s presentation of evidence.
They were also absent from three previous hearings on April 11, April 25 and May 30.
The dismissal would be final if the prosecution fails to act on it within two years.
