Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, daughter of the late President Ferdinand Marcos, attributed the recent support being received by the Marcos family to the cynical nature of today’s ‘intelligent’ young people.
To a certain degree there’s a level, perhaps, of cynicism, with our kids who don’t really believe everything that they read or hear,” Marcos told reporters in an ambush interview on Friday.
“I’m doing a lot of school tours, as a matter of fact, ang tinatanong nila (students), ano ba talaga ang nangyari? That’s exactly what they’re saying,” she relayed.
Marcos was responding to questions on where she based her claim that young people have moved on from the issues hurled against the Marcoses, especially her father.

According to her, young people may be sick of “propaganda” and “fake news”, and are relying on their grandparents for answers on whether life was better before or after Marcos’ 21-year tenure.
“Naririnig nila on the other hand, ‘yong mga lola nila nasabi nila na mas magaan daw ‘yong buhay sapat ‘yong pagkain, hindi raw sila natatakot sa daan, siguro naririnig nila na may kabutihan,” Marcos said.
/vvp
