Gun-for-hire suspect slain in Rizal
SAN PEDRO CITY – An alleged member of a gun-for-hire group was killed in a shootout with the police in Taytay town in Rizal province on Friday morning.
Rizal police director Sr. Supt. Lou Evangelista, in a text message, said the police were supposed to implement a search warrant on the suspect Von Mabanglo’s house in Barangay (village) San Isidro around 5:30 a.m.
The warrant was issued by Judge Agripino Morga of the Regional Trial Court Branch 28 to 32 in San Pablo City, Laguna.
Mabanglo allegedly resisted arrest and began firing at the policemen. He was killed when the police shot back.
Police said Mabanglo was allegedly involved in a series of contract killings, robberies, and illegal drug trade in the province. MARICAR CINCO
