The 15-year-old suspect in the killing of a 14-year-old teenager in Caloocan City was arrested by the police in Bacoor City, Cavite Friday.

The suspect was earlier seen in a CCTV footage bludgeoning the victim to death with a block of wood while neighbors stood by and just watch the entire crime happen, a report from dzMM said.

During the arrest operation, the suspect allegedly ran amok and was crying when he threatened to commit suicide if the police will arrest him, the report said.

According to the report, the suspect’s sisters sought the help of local authorities in Caloocan City to arrest their brother who was hiding in their grandmother’s residence.

Pati po kami natatakot,” said one of the suspects’ sisters.

(We did it to give justice to the death of the victim, because I cannot be at peace. We also don’t know what to do. We are also afraid.)

(We would prefer if he will be detained instead of him loitering around the streets without us knowing what’s happening to him.)

The sister also apologized to the family of the victim.

Nakikiramay din po ako,” she said.

(I’ll be the one to ask for forgiveness for what my brother has done. I also don’t know what encouraged him to do that. I also extend my condolences.)

The suspect will be taken to the police station of Caloocan City. He was accompanied by members of the Women and Children’s Desk since he is a minor, the report said. /jpv
