The Caloocan City government is implementing a traffic rerouting scheme starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday to prevent the build-up of vehicular traffic near the historic Monumento circle during Bonifacio Day celebrations on the same day.
All vehicles bound for Monumento, EDSA and Manila coming from McArthur Highway in Valenzuela City will have to make a counterflow in the eastern side of the monument to get to their respective destinations.
Public utility jeepneys (PUJs), meanwhile, will have to turn right on De Jesus Street in Caloocan to reach Manila.
PUJs and other vehicles coming from EDSA should turn right on McArthur Highway, then make a left upon reaching Pinagtipunan Circle to access Gov. Pascual Avenue, both in Malabon City. Those who wish to access Caloocan City may do so by using Samson Road.
Buses coming from EDSA bound for Sangandaan or Monumento in Caloocan City, meanwhile, will have to make a right at Gen. Simon Street. From there, those who wish to access Valenzuela City may use McArthur Highway.
In Caloocan, PUJs coming from Gen. San Miguel Street, meanwhile, should turn left at Dagohoy Street, then access Caimito Road to reach Pio Valenzuela Street.
All private vehicles coming from Gen. San Miguel Street that want to reach EDSA will have to take A. Mabini Street and turn left on 10th Avenue to reach Rizal Avenue Extension.
Meanwhile, vehicles coming from Manila through Rizal Avenue Extension should make a right at 9th Avenue then left at B. Serrano Street to access EDSA or Valenzuela City.
Buses and trucks coming from Malabon City will have to turn right at Dagat-dagatan Avenue in Caloocan, turn left at C-3 Road and make another left at B. Serrano to get to EDSA.
