3 dead after 4-day drinking spree in Laguna

Three residents of Barangay San Diego in Luisiana, Laguna died after a four-day drinking spree, the police said.

Luisiana Municipal Police Station identified the casualties as Michelliza Gonzales, 41; Rolan Graida, 41; and Sonia Graida, 62.

In a report, authorities said Gonzales was first rushed to the hospital around 7:00 p.m. on August 23 due to breathing difficulties, but she expired while undergoing treatment minutes later.

Around 7:30 p.m., Rolan Graida was also rushed to the hospital for vomiting. But at 3:00 a.m. on August 24, he was also pronounced dead. According to the death certificate issued by the attending physician, the cause of death was upper gastrointestinal bleeding probably secondary to chronic alcohol intake.

Later in the day, at about 7:00 p.m., Sonia Graida was rushed to the hospital due to stomach pain. She died two days later.

Investigation revealed that the victims were in a four-day drinking spree before their deaths.

Luisina police vowed to conduct follow up investigations on the incident.
