The Parañaque City government will implement the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) in roads near the Bicutan interchange to address the huge volume of vehicles passing through the area, resulting in heavy traffic.
In a statement, the city government said the imposition of the program, more popularly known as the number coding scheme, was covered by a city ordinance, which will take effect Thursday.
Aside from the number coding scheme, the local government will also implement a truck ban on roads leading to the Bicutan interchange as well.
Parañaque roads now covered by the UVVRP and the truck ban are as follows:
San Antonio Avenue, Doña Soledad Avenue and Doña Soledad Extension; President Aguinaldo Street, Dominic Savio Street, Michael Rua Street and France Street in Barangay (village) Don Bosco;
E. Rodriguez Street in Barangay Moonwalk, the section of East Service Road from Sucat Road to the Parañaque side of the Food Terminal Inc.; and the section of West Service Road from Sucat Road up to Merville Park Subdivision.
The city government will observe the window hours of 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the announcement added.
