Andres Bonifacio, born on Nov. 30, 1863, grew up in the slums of Tondo, Manila. Named after St. Andrew the Apostle, the patron saint of Manila, the founder and organizer of the Katipunan was orphaned as a teenager and had to take care of his younger siblings.
