2 alleged rapists die in police encounter in Quezon City

Two alleged rapists were killed in an encounter with members of the Quezon City Police on Wednesday.

Police in a report on Thursday said they received information from an unnamed citizen around 11:30 p.m. that an 18-year old girl was kidnapped by two unidentified suspects along Majaas Street corner Payatas Road in Barangay Commonwealth.

Authorities said they spotted the half-naked victim seeking for help at Phase 5 in Barangay Payatas B. Police said the suspects who were chasing after the victim allegedly opened fire upon seeing them.

Authorities retaliated which resulted to a shootout that killed the suspects on the spot.

Members of the Scene of the Crime Operatives found 2 caliber .38 revolver with live bullets, three spent shells of caliber .38, and eight sachets of suspected shabu.

One of the suspects was around 30 to 45 years old and was allegedly part of Bahala na Gang, while the other is around 25 to 30 years old, according to the report.

Police said the suspects wore black jackets, cap, helmet, and a mask during the incident. /je
