A condominium unit in Pasay City which was allegedly being rented by a Taiwanese national earlier busted for shabu, yielded several 9mm pistols during a raid by members of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Wednesday.
NCRPO Regional Director General Guillermo Eleazar said the condominium unit along Roxas Boulevard told reporters in a press briefing that the busted unit is also allegedly rented by Chong Chin Haw, a Taiwanese national arrested in a Binondo hotel on August 24.
Police have yet to account for the exact number of the pistols seized at the condominium unit as of this posting. Police said the subject of the search warrant is a certain Jinhao Zhang.
Earlier seized from Chong were seven large packs of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P40 million, 385 packs of suspected chemicals used for the manufacture of illegal drugs, and 20,000 bullets for a 9mm pistol.

“Based on our follow-up investigation, we were able to trace na itong unit na ito sa condo na ito ay kanya ring nirerentahan (that he also rents this unit in this condominium),” Eleazar said.
He said the suspects are allegedly engaged in a big-time international syndicate involved in gun smuggling and in the distribution and manufacture of illegal drugs.
Eleazar said they also found an “unknown substance” in the raided Pasay condo unit, which he said will be turned over to the laboratory of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for testing.
