DAGUPAN CITY — Police arrested on Tuesday night (Aug. 28) four construction workers suspected of raping and killing a sales clerk on Monday night (Aug. 27) in Barangay (village) Pantal here.
Supt. Jandale Sulit, police chief, declined to identify the suspects who allegedly raped and strangled Reysha Vidal, 21, a sales clerk whose half-naked remains were found floating in a fish pond at 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday.
Vidal was assaulted and killed before she was dumped in the pond, according to Dr. Benjamin Bautista, assistant city health officer, who conducted the autopsy.
Sulit said a witness led policemen to the suspects, who reportedly snatched Vidal, who was walking home from work about 9:30 p.m. on Monday. The suspects took her to a hut near a pond. GABRIEL CARDINOZA
