The seven men who cursed and taunted President Rodrigo Duterte while smoking marijuana in a pot session video that went viral have surrendered to police, authorities confirmed on Wednesday.
A police report identified the suspects as Comelio Aguilar, 22; Kurt Edison Aflo, 22; Emmanuel Guerrero, 23; Ran-Ran Santos, 23; Cedrick Acharon, 21; Juaneil Arvie Isles, 18; and Randal Louis Roque, 20.
Police said they initially deployed agents on Monday night to conduct surveillance and a possible buy-bust operation at the place where the video was shot but have failed to spot the suspects.
Six of the suspects then surrendered on Tuesday afternoon to local officials of Barangay Tugatog in Malabon City, who later accompanied them to the police, the report read.
Police said the six were initially taken under custody of the Scene of the Crime Operatives’ satellite office in Valenzuela City for drug test examination.
Roque, meanwhile, surrendered early Wednesday morning to authorities. Police said he was fetched by his mother escorted by some policemen in Camarines Sur.
The seven are now detained at the Malabon City Police Station. /muf
