Less clouds and rain are forecast over most of the country on Wednesday with rainy weather mostly seen in Northern Luzon, the weather bureau said Wednesday.

Ilocos Norte, llocos Sur, Apayao, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Flashfloods and landslides are likely in these areas due to the light to heavy rain.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain.

Recently, cloudy and rainy weather dominated much of Luzon, including Central Luzon and Metro Manila.

Pagasa is also monitoring a storm outside the Philippine area of responsibility. It is not expected to enter PAR.

Severe Tropical Storm Jebi was at 3,485 kilometers east of Central Luzon. /cbb
