A former inmate jailed over drug charges was arrested again by members of the San Juan City Police after allegedly running amok in a community Tuesday.
Police said in a report that Joey Ecat, 37, was arrested after he allegedly challenged his neighbors in Barangay 2nd West Crame into a fight.
Piqued by his behavior, one of his neighbors, Andrew Retuya, allegedly hit Ecat but was pacified by responding policemen, the report read.
Both were taken to the Barangay Hall where they eventually settled their dispute, according to the police.
Ecat, however, started another commotion at the hall as Retuya was about to leave, prompting authorities to arrest him.
Initial investigation showed that Ecat was under the influence of alcohol during the incident.
Police said Ecat was imprisoned at the San Juan City Jail from 2007 to 2015 for alleged possession of illegal drugs. He was released after serving his sentence.
The suspect was again put under police custody and now faces alarm and scandal charges, police said. /ee
