SAN PEDRO CITY – Three alleged illegal drug pushers, one of them the alleged top drug suspect in Laguna, were killed in separate buy busts in Laguna and Batangas.
In Laguna, Ponciano Deticio alias “Potpot” was killed in a bust at around 9 p.m. Monday in Calamba City, police said on Tuesday.
Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson of the Calabarzon police, said members of the Laguna intelligence police conducted the buy bust in Barangay Barandal that targeted Deticio, who topped the police’s watchlist for drug personalities.
Gaoiran said Deticio was killed when he and two other suspects engaged police officers in a shootout.
Deticio’s two companions, identified as Elmer Dimaano and Eunice Eliorda, were later arrested. Police said Dimaano and Eliorda are also included in the police drug watchlist.
Police recovered from the suspects four sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth).
Meanwhile, in San Jose, Batangas, two suspected drug pushers were also killed in a buy bust at around 11 p.m. Monday.
Police only identified them as an alias “Tiong” and an alias “Jojo.”
Police said the suspects were selling to undercover policemen three sachets of alleged shabu when Jojo took out his gun and opened fire. The suspects then fled, prompting the police officers to give chase.
