MANILA, Philippines—The local government of Caloocan City on Tuesday offered a P100,000 reward for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects in robbery-slay case of the city’s three village officers in Meycauayan City, Bulacan.
Senior Superintendent Jude Santos, chief of the Caloocan City police said their Mayor Enrico Echiverri offered the reward in an effort to “speed up the investigation.”
Santos said the Meycauayan City police had jurisdiction over the case but he has sent investigators to assist in solving the crime. “We are coordinating with Meycauayan City police as the village officers were from Caloocan City,” he added.
“We also want to find out whether someone knew that the group withdrew a large amount of money that day,” added Santos, pointing out that Gomito and her aides drove through NLEX towards Bagong Silang village to avoid heavy traffic.
Senior Inspector Randy Korret, officer-in-charge of the Meycauayan police said the victims Bagong Silang 176 village treasurer Rodora Gomito, 31, driver Jaime Mendoza, 50, and liaison officer Donna Migallos, 30, had just withdrawn P3 million from a bank when they were gunned down by three suspects at Barangay Bahay Pari Monday noon.
Korret said the suspects waited for the victim’s Isuzu Crosswind to slow down near a hump on the road before shooting at the victims.
