LUCENA CITY – Two motorcycle riders died in a road accident along the eco-tourism road here Sunday afternoon, police said.
Citing a spot report, Senior Supt. Osmundo de Guzman, Quezon police director, said motorcycle driver Joven Christian Gagalac, 25, and his back-rider Kathlene Luna, 27, were travelling along the stretch of the eco-tourism road, heading towards the nearby town of Sariaya when their vehicle was sideswiped by another motorcycle being driven by still unidentified rider in Barangay Salinas around 3 p.m.
Gagalac and Luna who were both thrown off from the motorcycle landed on the concrete pavement and consequently run over by an incoming ten-wheeler truck. The two died on the spot, reports said.
The other motorcycle driver sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital in Lucena.
Police are still investigating the incident. /ee
