Philippine National Police (PNP) officials led by their chief, Director General Oscar Albayalde, fired their guns during a ceremonial shoot prior to the start of a shooting competition in Marikina City on Thursday.

Albayalde was joined by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) head Director Guillermo Eleazar, NCRPO district directors and other event organizers during the opening of “Oca Cup,” a three-day shooting tournament open for active policemen and private gun owners.

Albayalde’s son Kendrick, whom the PNP chief regarded as a better shooter than him, also participated in the event.

According to the Officers’ Ladies Club, which organized the event, the proceeds of the event will be used to fund the construction and repair of chapels in different police offices. /jpv
