NPC bares list of possible Senate bets for 2019

The Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) also dubbed as an “independent third force” has drafted  a shortlistof 15 possible bets for the 2019 senatorial race.

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III identified 11 of the 15 possible Senate bets.

Topping the NPC list are Senators Grace Poe, Cynthia Villar, Nancy Binay, Sonny Angara, Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, and JV Ejercito, and Taguig Rep. Pia Cayetano.

Sotto also named Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go, former Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Lito Lapid and former Police chief Ronaldo “Bato” Dela Rosa as possible bets.

Four others, whom he refused to name yet, are also being considered by the party.

“I have no authority yet  to name  them. Talks areongoing,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

The Senate President also clarified that they have yet to finalize the list.

“We will finalize soon,” he told reporters on Wednesday.

While the party is allied with the administration, Sotto said NPC is an “independent third force.”  /muf
