Woman loses P250K to robbers on motorcycle

The police are still looking for robbers on a motorcycle who took P250,000 worth of valuables last week from a woman in Quezon City.

Supt. Roberto Sales, La Loma police station 1 chief, said that May Sarmiento-Sy, 46, had just left her house around 7 p.m. on Aug. 15 when two motorcycle riders snatched her bag at the corner of Dapitan and Iriga Streets at Barangay Teresita.

Sy told the Inquirer that she lost two cell phones, P7,000 in cash, a diamond ring and a pair of earrings worth P150,000 and perfume.

The victim also sustained minor injuries after she fell down and was dragged a few feet while holding to her bag.

Investigator SPO3 John Sales said there were already persons of interest but they could not yet be identified to avoid jeopardizing follow-up operations.
