Alejano urges speedy rebuilding of Marawi City
Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano has rallied the government to ramp up its efforts in rebuilding the war-torn Islamic city of Marawi as Filipino Muslims celebrate Eid al-Adha or the Festival of Sacrifice on Tuesday.
Alejano also called on the government to assure that martial law in Mindanao would not “impede on the rights” of the people there, or worsen their situation.
May their faith guide them through these troubled times,” he said in a statement.
“More than that, I urge the government to ramp up its effort to rebuild and rehabilitate Marawi City and to make sure that the Martial Law in effect will not impede on the rights of our people or worsen their situation.
Alejano said he hoped the entire nation stand in solidarity with Filipino Muslims as they commemorate one of the most important festivals in the Islamic calendar.
