Manila cops pursue motorist in hit-and-run incident in Ermita

Operatives from the Manila Police District (MPD) are tracking down the driver of a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in Ermita, Manila on Monday morning.

According to the initial investigation of the Manila police, victim Jeremiah Erwin Tan was crossing the portion of Roxas Boulevard along Pedro Gil when a speeding car hit him, sending him a few feet away from his spot.

Tan sustained injuries as he landed hard on the road pavement. However, the suspect reportedly did not alight from his vehicle.

Witnesses claimed that the vehicle’s license plate number was TQR-245.

When the police verified the plate number, the Land Transportation Office said the vehicle reportedly belongs to Sun Fortune, Inc. based in Malanday, Valenzuela.

The company later said the car was driven by a certain Victor Kung, who was reportedly set to board a flight to Hong Kong on Monday afternoon.

Authorities have yet to confirm whether Kung is still in the country.   /vvp
