12-year-old boy hurt in Danao grenade blast
A 12-year-old boy was injured after motorcycle-riding men threw a grenade in a park in Danao City at dawn yesterday.
The boy was brought to the Danao District Hospital for treatment of minor burns on his arm.
No clear motive was established for the explosion, which police said could have been a random act of violence.
The blast occurred on corner D. Durano Street, barangay Poblacion, Danao City.
Three men were seen on board a black XRM motorcycle passing by the park.
One of the backriders threw a grenade near the water fountain.

Article continues after this advertisementThe boy, who was sitting on a bench near the fountain, was hit by the explosion.
PO2 Ildefonso Prosia of the Danao City police said the explosion was not devastating as the grenade had a crack and its powder spilled.
He said the grenade was an old model.
Witnesses told police that the men wore black sweatshirts while two of them wore caps.
Police said the culprits fled towards north.
