The southwest monsoon will continue to affect the western section of Luzon, the state weather bureau said on Sunday.
In its 4 a.m. bulletin report, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Groups of Islands, Zambales and Bataan would have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Pagasa added that flashfloods and landslides could be expected due to scattered rains and thunderstorms.
The Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said that the typhoon Soulik (international name) was last spotted at 1,890 kilometers East Northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon, outside the Philippine area of Responsibility.
It has maximum sustained winds of 145 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of 180 kph. /je
