2 Chinese nationals killed in Manila riding-in-tandem shooting

Two Chinese nationals were killed after gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire along Taft Avenue in Manila at around 11:40 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the two male victims were identified as Yan Yi Shou, 35, and Wu Huai Hong, 30.

The shooting happened near the Araullo High School, Manila police said.

Probers  from the Manila Police District said the victims were just passing by the area when the suspects who reportedly wore helmets suddenly attacked them.

One of the victims was declared dead on the spot, while the other died on arrival at the Manila Medical Center.

Two bystanders were also reportedly injured after being hit by stray bullets. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, police said. Police identified the hurt bystanders as Carla Joyce Chan, 24, and Abegael Amomonpon Conde, 19.

No motive for the incident has been established as of posting.

Police are still investigating on the incident as of this posting.  /muf
