SAN PEDRO CITY – Four suspected criminals were killed in separate police operations in Cavite and Laguna provinces, the police said Saturday.
In Laguna, suspected drug pushers Kevin Gerolao, alias “Biboy,” and Ahmad Rataban were killed in a buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Mamatid, Cabuyao City, around 3 p.m. Friday, according to a report from the regional police office.
The police were about to arrest the suspects when they allegedly began to open fire.
Recovered were about 25 grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) worth about P365,000 and two .38 caliber guns.
In Cavite, another suspected drug dealer, Jayson Matias, was also killed in a buy-bust operation around 11:30 p.m., also Friday, in Barangay Putol, Kawit.
An undercover police officer shot Matias, who sold a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500, after putting up a gunfight, the police claimed.
In Silang, Cavite, the police have yet to identify the man killed in a shootout around 2:30 a.m. Friday in Barangay Pooc 1.
The report said a patrolling police team spotted the man with an unmarked motorcycle. The police tried to apprehend the man but instead of yielding for inspection, drew out his gun and fired at the police.
The police were investigating the case to determine the person’s identity and trace the records of the motorcycle.
