Name kin in dealings with DPWH, execs told
Officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways should divulge the identities of their relatives who had business dealings with the DPWH in the last five years, Secretary Rogelio Singson said Monday.
Singson said this was in line with the government policy of promoting transparency under the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
“This is also in compliance with the objectives of the Integrity Pledge or Commitment to Ethical Business Practices and Good Corporate Governance to which the DPWH is a signatory,” Singson said in a statement.
He said the public works officials must file “duly sworn” disclosure statements with the DPWH Central Records Management Division “not later than April 30 of every year starting 2012.”
Singson said his directive was meant to reduce corruption in the department. DPWH officials up to the rank of regional director and bureau head signed an Integrity Pledge at a recently held values formation workshop in Baguio City.
