De Castro denies owning properties not listed in SALN
Supreme Court Associate Justice Teresita Leonardo De Castro on Thursday denied owning several properties in Laguna, Manila, and Baguio that is not indicated in her statement of assets, liabilities and networth (SALN).
During her interview with members of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC), retired Judge Toribio Ilao asked De Castro about properties registered under the names “Teresita Leonardo-De Castro” and “Teresita De Castro.”
Ilao said these include four properties in Manila, five properties in Calamba, Laguna and two properties in Baguio.
“I do not own properties in those areas,” De Castro said.
She said her properties are in Parañaque and in Katarungan Village in Muntinlupa. Katarungan Village is a housing project for employees of the Department of Justice (DOJ). De Castro said she managed to acquire the property when she was working as state counsel of the DOJ. /ee
