Lacson: ‘I’m more bored than excited’ to run for president

Senator Panfilo Lacson on Thursday passed up on thoughts about running for president in the 2022 elections, saying he is “more bored than excited” in entertaining such possibility.

He said he is somehow getting tired of the country’s seemingly endless woes despite several changes of administrations.

“I am more bored than excited,” Lacson said during the Meet the Inquirer forum when asked if he is considering to run for the highest government seat in 2022.

“It has come to a point that after witnessing and experiencing all these challenges, para bang nakakapagod din (it somehow gets tiring), because we’re all humans anyway,” Lacson said.

He also lamented the seeming stagnation of the country with many pressing issues merely repeating like a cycle.

“It seems that nothing is moving. It keeps on going back and forth,” the senator said.

But while he brushed off the idea of running for president, Lacson said he is only speaking under present conditions.

“After all these years, let’s see. I am talking as we speak,” he said, addressing a reporter in the forum.

“As you ask me this question, that’s my sentiment knowing all and having all the challenges in our midst, ang daming problema (so many problems),” Lacson added.

To recall, Lacson ran but lost to now Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the 2004 elections.
