BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN — Strange as it may seem, an alleged burglar appears to have taken the saying “sleeping on the job” literally after breaking into a house in Rimba.

The “unlucky” thief was found asleep on a sofa in the living room by some residents yesterday. Pictures of the incident went viral on social media and the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) has confirmed the incident.

RBPF said it received a report on the incident at around 9:15 a.m. The 34-year-old local man is alleged to have broken in to the damaged property.

The suspect was taken to the Bandar Seri Begawan Central Police Station for further investigation.

RBPF urged members of the public to come forward to share any information on the incident to the BSB Central Police Station, or any nearby police station.
