MANILA, Philippines – Three village employees from Caloocan City were killed in Bulacan Monday after they were gunned down by suspects who were after the P3 million they withdrew from a bank in Caloocan City, Senior Inspector Randy Korret, officer-in-charge of the Meycauayan police said.
Korret identified the victims as Bagong Silang 176 village treasurer Rodora Gomito, 31; driver Jaime Mendoza, 50; and liaison officer Donna Migallos, 30.
The victims died after being repeatedly shot by armed men at around 12 noon in Bahay Pari village in Meycauayan City, he said.
Korret said that authorities were able to rush Migallos to a nearby hospital but that she died while undergoing treatment.
The three had just withdrawn P3 million from a bank in Caloocan City and drove their Isuzu Crosswind through a shortcut when the suspects ambushed them, said Korret.
He said that around three suspects, as per witnesses’ accounts, lay in wait for the vehicle to slow down to pass a hump on the road before shooting the vehicle.
The suspects used a motorcycle as their getaway vehicle and drove toward Caloocan City, said Korret.
Caloocan and Meycauayan city police are conducting pursuit operations against the suspects who made off with the money shortly after they gunned down the three victims.
