More than 24,000 Metro Manila residents still in evacuation centers on Monday
More than 24,000 residents of Metro Manila remain in various evacuation areas as of 12 p.m. on Monday after the storm-enhanced southwest monsoon dumped torrential rains and spawned massive floods throughout most of Luzon, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said in a report.
The Eastern Police District (EPD) said the bulk of the evacuees — 4,695 families or about 21,088 individuals — are still staying in 20 different temporary shelters.
Marikina City is one of the areas most heavily affected floods but the EPD reported that the Marikina River water level has now receded to 15.7 meters after it breached the critical 20-meter mark on Saturday.

On the other hand, the Northern Police District reported that 253 families or about 990 individuals are still in six temporary shelters in the area
Meanwhile, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported that 505 families or about 1,814 individuals are still staying in 16 different evacuation centers. The QCPD also reported three casualties.
