The Marikina City government has downgraded its alert status to first alarm as Marikina River’s water level continues to decrease.
As of 11 a.m. Monday, the Marikina Public Information Office said the river’s spilling level was already at 15.7 meters.
On Saturday evening, Marikina River’s spilling level reached 20.6 meters amid non-stop downpour due to storm-enhanced southwest monsoon affecting many parts of Luzon.

Marikina City was under third alarm over the weekend, and residents were compelled to leave their homes for temporary shelters in evacuation centers. /kga
