There were a total of 482,480 recorded marriages in 2010, according to recent data from the National Statistics Office. Of this figure, around 14 percent, or 66,650 weddings, were registered at the National Capital Region (Metro Manila).

This was slightly lower than the recorded 71,447 registered marriages in the region in 2009.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
