Marikina River rises to 16.3 meters; still on second alarm

The water level at the Marikina River was at 16.3 meters as of 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, the city’s public information office said in an advisory.

According to data from the Marikina Public Information Office, Alarm Level II remains after the water level inched up to 16.3 meters from 16 meters around 3:35 p.m.

The water level at the river breached the 20-meter level at the height of the heavy downpour on Saturday, prompting authorities to evacuate many residents from low-lying areas.
