Cop gunned down in Palawan

CITY OF CALAPAN – A policeman was shot and killed by three unidentified gunmen in San Vicente town in Palawan province on Saturday afternoon.

Supt. Imelda Tolentino, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan police information officer, said Senior Police Officer 1 Marvin Adier, 36, was leaving a construction supplies store on his motorcycle when three armed men who were standing beside the road, shot him several times in Barangay (village) Poblacion at about 5 p.m.

The victim sustained bullet wounds in different parts of his body. The suspects immediately fled towards Barangay New Agutaya using a motorcycle.

Adier was taken to the Rural Health Unit of San Vicente but died while undergoing treatment at 5:47 p.m.

Adier was assigned at San Vicente police station.

Recovered from the scene were seven empty shells from a caliber .45 pistol, one empty shell from a 9 mm pistol and three slugs.
