Residents of Metro Manila, Rizal, the rest of Calabarzon and Central Luzon can expect less heavy rainfall Sunday after the weather bureau terminated all heavy rainfall warnings over these areas.

Light to moderate to occasionally heavy rain may be expected in these places due to the prevailing southwest monsoon or habagat.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) announced the termination of the yellow, orange and red rainfall warnings.

On Saturday, Pagasa issued several Red Level Rainfall warnings over Rizal and Metro Manila amid light to heavy rainfall that brought flooding to many places in the two areas.

The rain was due to the habagat that was enhanced by Tropical Storm “Karding” as it exited the Philippine area of responsibility in the north.

On Sunday, the weather bureau said monsoon rain would continue to affect Metro Manila, Calabarzon and Central Luzon as it observed light to moderate rain over Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Batangas, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, and Bulacan.

It also forecast light to moderate with occasional heavy rain over Batangas (Lian, Tuy, Balayan, Nasugbu, Calaca, Laurel), Cavite (Magallanes, Alfonso, Mendez, Gen. Emilio, Indang, Tagaytay), and Zambales (Cabangan, Botolan, Olongapo, Subic) in the early morning.

Also, light to moderate with occasional heavy rain is expected over Metro Manila and Bataan before midday.

Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon will be cloudy with scattered rain and thunderstorms monsoon.

Meanwhile, Mindanao and the rest of the Visayas will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated thunderstorms. /cbb
